About Me
I’m Steve Slaight, founder of Your Legacy Speaks. For years, my work has centered on helping people plan meaningful experiences, communicate clearly, and preserve the moments that matter.
Through recording conversations with travelers, couples, and families, I discovered something important: people often carry remarkable stories that their children and grandchildren have never fully heard.
After one person I interviewed passed away, his family shared how meaningful that recorded conversation had become to them. It was a powerful reminder that a person’s voice, expressions, humor, and memories are gifts that cannot be recreated later.
Your Legacy Speaks was created to make preserving those stories comfortable, professional, and deeply personal. My role is not to tell people what their story should be. My role is to help them share the memories, values, experiences, and wisdom that matter most to them.

We Prepare Your Interview
We review your responses, thoughtfully shape the flow of the conversation, and prepare a customized interview guide based on what matters most to you.

We bring and set up professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in the location of your choice, creating a comfortable setting that feels familiar and natural.

A Guided Conversation
I gently guide the conversation using only the subjects that are important to you, allowing your memories and personality to come through naturally.

Portrait and Reflection
We conclude with a professional portrait and a few brief questions about the experience, creating one more meaningful part of the finished story.

Professional Editing
We carefully edit the recording, improve the sound and visual presentation, and create a polished video while preserving your authentic voice and personality.

Your Custom Video Book
Your edited story can be placed in a custom video book containing up to an hour of your interview—told entirely in your own words and ready to enjoy without an internet connection.
